By exploring the tension between abstract painting and representational painting my intention is to energize the viewer with expressionistic performance composed of paint, color, and gesture. The process of shifting through art historical references, the internet, and real life experiences is exposed. Eventually making something new of one’s own history and experiences. In this case, something funny, gently irreverent, and earnest.
